moss + method started with a simple observation: the same engineering principles that power the world’s most sophisticated digital platforms are completely inaccessible to the small businesses that need them most.
Tim spent years at the intersection of higher education and enterprise technology, building and scaling the digital infrastructure that carried one of New England’s largest institutions past a billion dollars in annual revenue. He wasn’t just building websites — he was building the systems that build websites. Agentic workflows, automated QA pipelines, performance monitoring, accessibility compliance — all at scale.
Brittny saw something there. Not just a technical skill set, but an opportunity to build something that mattered closer to home. She’d spent years watching small business owners get sold expensive, slow, insecure websites by agencies who didn’t understand technology. So they started building — together. Not as a side project. As a studio with a real methodology, a real price point, and a real commitment to the clients who hire them.

Tim doesn’t build websites by hand. He builds the systems, workflows, and pipelines that build websites — and then he audits every output before it ships. This is the distinction that separates moss + method from every other small agency: the engineering is genuinely world-class, not just marketed that way.
His background is in large-scale digital infrastructure, and he believes the best thing he can do with that knowledge is make it accessible to businesses that can’t afford an enterprise engineering team.

WordPress sites get hacked because they have databases, plugins with known vulnerabilities, and PHP execution at runtime. Our sites are static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — pre-rendered at build time, served from a CDN. There’s nothing to hack because there’s no server-side code to exploit.
